BBC Radio 1 To Broadcast 10 Hours Live From Creamfields: 12.08.08

BBC Radio 1 are rolling onto site this year to broadcast live from the festival for a record breaking 10 hours, tune into Annie Mac between 1pm – 4pm on both days and listen out for a Creamfields Special Essential Mix from midnight to 5am. The all-night show will playout sets from Pete Tong, 2 Many DJ’s, Eric Prydz, Sasha and more. Plus for the first time ever the BBC Introducing bus will be rolling onto site to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Creamfields, bringing with them a truck load of breaking DJ’s on board for what promises to be the UK’s hottest dance event of the summer.

BBC Radio 1 have announced they will be broadcasting live from Creamfields for a record breaking 10 hours, including a live music special on Monday 25th August from 7pm, which will include tracks from the highly anticipated set from Kasabian. In addition Radio 1 head up their own arena with sets from Underworld, Gorillaz Soundsystem, John Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, Deadmau5 and Nick Warren. ‘

And with only 2 weeks to go, a special documentary has been put together by BBC Radio 1, Judge Jules will be reliving the past 10 years at Creamfields…using hypnotherapy. Jules ‘goes under’ to draw out his memories, and Norman Cook, Paul van Dyk, and Sister Bliss reminisce on their experiences, and it doesn’t end there, the documentary which is part of BBC Radio 1’s coverage of Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture celebrations will also look to this years 10th Anniversary and see what the future holds for Creamfields. For the first time ever, BBC Introducing decamps to Creamfields. The BBC Introducing Bus is a hotbed of emerging talent and will be bringing with them a collective of the UK’s freshest new DJs. Some of Radio 1’s and 1Xtra DJ’s will also be getting on board, popping on for spontaneous sets throughout the weekend. The BBC Introducing Bus will be full of surprises.

The DJ’s confirmed have all been tearing up dancefloors across the UK, so without further ado here’s the line up: Doorly, Andy George & Jaymo from Moda, Tom Maddicott, Dolby Anol, Anton Powers, Matrix & Futurebound, Lee Mortimer, James Rand, Lewis Boardman, Rachel Barton, LMP DJ’s and DJ Mog.

We can also expect appearances from Radio 1’s finest Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Annie Mac and Kissy Sell Out, plus 1Xtra’s Mistajam, Crissy Criss and Footloose

BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac says: “I'm as excited as ever for Creamfields this year. As always I've worked alongside Chibuku to put together the Chibuku and Annie Mac Presents Arena where I'm playing alongside Ian Brown, Erol Alkan and 2ManyDJs. This year sees the launch of the all new Annie Mac Presents tent, it's a smaller tent and gives me an opportunity to showcase lots of new and exciting acts like Little Boots and Frankmusic, Plastic Little and Clik Clik. I'll be doing my weekend radio shows from there too.. so that along with the fact that it's Creamfields 10th Birthday makes for a mammoth weekend!”

Doorly has a euphoric summer of love lined up across clubland, with extensive dates in Ibiza newcomer Doorly has been playing sets alongside the likes of The Streets and Reverend and the Makers.

Glasgow’s double act Dolby Anol have been playing dates on both sides of the Atlantic, releasing their first single and getting support from Annie Mac and Kissy Sell Out, the twosome are supporting Chromeo in London in August and have remixed everyone from the Gossip to Mastkrft.

Liverpool’s own Anton Powers is another rising star causing a stir in Ibiza clubland and bringing the sound of the sunshine isle to the fields, he joins Matrix and Futurebound who have been globetrotting of late. Not content with honing their craft at home, the drum and bass duo have been travelling Eastern Europe to bring their eclectic sound to the platform.

Lee Mortimer has played alongside the Artful Dodger with his unique fidget house sound, and produced acclaimed remixes for CR2 and Front Room Recordings. Rachel Barton is a bright star on the clubbing circuit, having played alongside many of the key Radio 1 dance, she is sure to set the fields alight with the rest of Creamfields10th anniversary ear candy. James Rand is another up and coming DJ, having come runner up in the babycream DJ competition, he will be joined by Chibuku regular Lewis Boardman.

The LMP DJs are Dillon Koenig & Adam K; the guys behind the Like-Minded People parties. They can also be found playing for the likes of Kissdafunk, Judgement Sundays, Inside Out and Afterparty.

DJ Mog is resident at the massive “Clubland” night in Cookstown; Radio 1’s Dave Pearce and Judge Jukes are both big supporters.

The Boys behind the massive Lincoln night Moda, Andy George and Jaymo will be heading to Creamfields, along with Tom Maddicott following on from their stand out sets on Radio 1 as part of the BBC Introducing Essential Mix Tour.
