\ Producer Sy Lambie was born, brought up and still
lives in London, UK. From a young age, Sy Lambie
had a keen interest in hip hop, electro and disco.
At around 1989 his musical taste developed into
listening, and by then playing, house music!
As time progressed he started to buy, listen and
play the more soulful \ funky \ uplifting US &
UK side of house music. After a couple of years
of being one of the very many "bedroom dj's",
he had his first break into the club scene in 1991.
From there he was asked to join a London based “underground”
radio station, which he did in 1992. Being around
when the hardcore scene kicked off, although Sy
Lambie dabbled into the “hardcore you know
the score” culture, he still stuck to his
roots playing his beloved house music.
As well as work on various other “underground”
radio stations, the next few years he travelled
around the UK and Europe playing at various clubs
around the globe, trying to get his name known on
the famous superstar DJ circuit.
Now, Sy Lambie holds a weekly residency at Club
Nautica in Ware, Hertfordshire, where he plays his
brand of funky house to over 500 people each week
and plays an old skool set once a month to a packed
club. He also plays at various clubs around London,
the UK and he still, on occasions, travels to Europe,
playing at clubs such as Hanover Grand, The Aquarium,
Nightlife (Ibiza), Bcm (Majorca), The Greenhouse
and Bagleys etc.
Sy Lambie also spends a lot of his time in the studio
producing filtered, funky house, and is currently
working on a house track that will soon be released
on a major label. His production work has lead to
his tracks being profiled on Kiss 100FM (London)
and he has also been asked to review tracks for
a leading dance music magazine. He’s next
major project is setting up his own record label,
which he has started throughout 2003.
Time is also taken up by running his own web site
www.sylambie.co.uk where you can get news on Sy
Lambie, booking info, up to date info on where Sy
Lambie will be playing, and for a limited time,
lucky visitors can get a copy of his funky house
mix CD for free.
NB: Sy Lambie is not connected to hardcore deejay
DJ SY in any way.
